Draw closes tomorrow for those that might have interest. Applied for the week or two after I return from NFLD Moose Hunting. If picked, I might surprise a few folks, particularly if I am sucessfull in NFLD.

Not that I saw Luke, although I missed the last four names in zone 2 season 2 as my sceeen went blank. Hniancks (SP) got one, not another name i knew, zones 1-5 Season 1 or 1-2 season 2. I did not watch it after that.

Never bothered because when I was younger I always figured to do it right I would need to use at least 7-10 days vacation, all I got for quite a few years, and extra long weekend for scouting and a week for the hunt. Also never had a lot of pocket money to spend so I figured I was better off putting my money elsewhere.

Linnie, although there is a cost, everything has a cost, scouting may not be an issue? Most that go up use a guide or take someone who is familiar with a spot. The Hunt up there is unique. If picked it is a Hunters 649 win. I was picked in 2006 , quite a trill. Moose Hunting , IMO, far out weights Deer Hunting. I am now a NFLD junkie, going this year for my third time. For the small cost involved in applying you really have nothing to loose, cept $7.00. If picked, particularly for zone 2, I know the area. We set up a tent, looked around, had a local show me a few spots, had a local come with me on day two, 13 point bull on the ground. Since that time I have refined my Moose Hunting ability. Calling ect. Deer hunting has become boring compared to Moose Hunting then seeing a 1000lb animal materialize out of nowhere.

MWO, Things have changed since I was first eligible to apply. Now it is not a issue to find help with the internet and all, big difference from the eighties. I know now that if I was picked it would be a lot cheaper and easier than what it used to be but the moose bug has never bitten me. I think maybe all the people that have been picked should just start sharing a little since I keep my name out of the pot and increase their chances. lol I think if I ever do a moose hunt it will be some sort of Nfld combination, bear & moose, hunt and fish.
