For anyone who thinks Nova Scotia's Deer population is in Jeopardy, take a drive through windsor/falmouth back roads at dusk.. Lost count at 57 last night and every night on the drive out of the bear stand i almost hit atleast one and see dozens more

Lots of deer there as well as everywhere I travel Luke. Drove back from NFLD on Saturday. Right from CB to home deer were everywhere. Just Remember that the same old Arm Chair Biologists who annually state doom and gloom are few, with the same statements annally. They have all the answers, all the results, all the conclusions, all are critics who are not involved in any Orgs or Groups which can help. They just are constant complainers. Most of what they state is never even close to what actually happens. LOL

Perhaps the one thing I would like to see changed is the zone structure. Smaller in some cases might better serve all concerned. This too is open for abuse. Remember the old zone 2A, within zone 2. It had massive abuse. Folks shooting deer in Zone 2 and others, registering them in 2A. Cannot blame DNR for everything that occurrs, most of what occurs in the woods we as Hunters are to blame. But saying this, DNR is understaffed, has significant budget cuts coming and can only do so much with what it is allocated. Hunters themselves have to own some of what occurs. Afterall, it is Hunters ourselved whom are out there. If you have a problem in the area you hunt for example, if you think it has low populations, than simply hunt somehere else. Hard to justify an arguement when you go in and shoot Deer, this after you state that the population is in trouble. Just saying.
