Plenty of grouse around but very jumpy at the moment. 4 in the orchard this afternoon and 3 there yesterday but all spooked when I was 15 yards away.
QQ: Does it matter if you're wearing camo or not? Each time I've been out this year they've been spooked when I was 15 yards away but I wasn't wearing camo, just greens/beige and my hunter orange.
Hoping they calm down when the cooler weather hits and the leaves are off the trees.
Anybody else having the same sort of luck with the grouse this year?

Matters not to the grouse if you are wearing camo or not, however when hunting grouse Hunter Orange is a must, whether in camo or just plain orange. 15 yards is a pretty average shot for Grouse, at least in my parts. Yes there appears to be lots around.

Just came back from a quick outing, just below your Bear stand. Too windy today, saw a few, but they saw me too. I have got a few this last week, have also let a lot walk away. Many around this year.
