No fishing this morning. Looks like the middle of winter out there. Was not able to dig worms last night, still frozen ground. Perhaps the hardware store will have some, than fishing tomorrow.....maybe?

If I can find worms around here, somewhere, I will venture out tomorrow morning. I know a close spot that is only about 1/2 hour ride on the bike that I will try. It generally is good early on, but where are the worms. LOL Nice morning however for Rabbit hunting.

Have License, will fish.......sometime. Today however I believe I will once again feed Deer. This is now becoming expensive. Crushed Oats are not cheap. Although I did take this on myself. LOL I love taking time off work to do nothing that I planned.

Had to take a run to the city at lunch time. So decided I would stop where I would head in fishing tomorrow and see how the snow looked. Holy Crap is all I can say. There would be no way in hell that I could get my bike through that trail, still snowmobile deep snow in there. It is really really deep , so fishing for me is now postponed until some of the snow that is in the woods goes. Oh BTW, the snow that I would have to travel through to get to my very first spot, would be about 15 KMs. Not at all worth chancing it. After there then a big hike in as well.

Looking out my front window right now I note that the tide is still on its way in, but is almost full. Keep that in mind for tomorrow. That whole area a couple days ago was literally under water with the high running tides.

We always used to say that when Alder leaves are as big as Mouse ears and the black flies are out was the best time for Trout fishing. I am heading out again tomorrow to a remote small lake where a run comes into it. Ice is out so I am hoping for a little action. Matters not really as I enjoy getting out for a few hours where is see no people. Bears are not active yet either. I see quite a few in these remote areas each spring. This particular little lake is in a group of 5 lakes, one of which is large, all have runs in and out of them. Has been fun at times at them. One run in the above lake I have yet to get to. Hoping this year sees me fishing it? The deadwaters are not really active yet, that is where I was yesterday, but as soon as it warms they get crazy.
Edit, I do not fish the lakes themselves, just the runs in and out of them. Small spots are always best for me.

There were 2 dozen trout stacked up below the culvert in the brook that runs through the farm yesterday....no real surprise as they are always there ...more when the water gets low mid summer because its the only deep spot in the brook

Got a brook on my woodlot, separates me from my neighbors woodlot. Small, narrow, a few pools in it. The only people I have ever known that fished it were the neighbors kids. Quite a few small ones in it. I never fish it, I just leave it alone. I believe it gets help too. The HWWA gives Trout away each spring. My neighbors has helped it, as I will this year too.
Just started my boat, first time this year, couple cranks on the key and off it went. Look out Flounder here I come.
