Anybody attend this year's AGM ?
Got any insights into the Resolutions presented...the new Executive, or whatnot ??
I read some (all?) of the Resolutions on the crossbow association's website...didn't seem to be anything too overly critical.
Increasing the daily limit of trout to 15?...Wonder if that passed.
I see there's some discussion on the go about the 2013 Harvest Numbers, and the DNR's path forward.
It's interesting that the student building the new Mathematical Model, apparently for DNR's use, received a grant from the HCF...even though the HCF terms expressly lists that the Fund is NOT for government use. I'm not saying I'm put off by it. It's great to see them (DNR) actually developing / progressing a management program...But it just appears to be another less than above-board dispersion of the HCF monies. If it's worthwhile for the DNR, then they should be paying for it, and I think that was the intent of the HCF rules to begin with.
Not to mention the fact that the original student who wrote the HCF proposal dropped out...and they just decided to give the monies to a new guy...who is not offering up a critique of our management plan as was the original proposal...this guy is developing a necessary component of the Plan itself.
(An idea would be to charge the DNR for the development time and use of the Model after its completion...Put the money back into the HCF.)
Naaahhhh...They'd just give it to some other academia to study how tight a seagull's butt puckers on a no'r east wind !!
I read the March Newsletter on the NSFAH website...I wonder who Woody was referring to that is spreading mis-information about their no-lead initiative?
At first I though it was me (he is pretty ticked)...but since I haven't passed on any misinformation, intentionally or otherwise, I know it can't be (me).
Did the 'initiative' get any discussion (open / public) at the AGM ??
