Anybody know the best (cheapest) place to get a small handgun for target practise? I'm looking for a .22 semi-automatic pistol but not sure where the cheapest would be.
Already got my RPAL and willing to join a club.

You have to join a club to own restricted. It is a prerequisite with the RPAL process.

I've got the Musquodoboit club that I can join and that'd be better anywhere as need the targets, just can't pop it off in the back yard.

In order to own Restricted or Prohibited, when grandfathered, as well as renew your RPAL or PAL you must show proof of Club membership. There is a form that the club sends to the CFC, on your behalf. A club recognized by the CFC, not a DNR range. Just saying, I have been involved in this for years. Own both as well.

I forgot that they were doing that. It's closer than Middle for me and I'm sure he'll become CFC registered, if not already.
Thanks Luke and Lee

After discussions with others I'm just going to look for a small calibre rifle for target practise. Thanks for the advice though.

Do not stop your quest for a Handgun for target purposes. They are amazing fun on the range. Not biggy owning one. Storage is a little more involved then a rifle and a Club is required. That said that should not stop you. I enjoy my Handguns, as much as , if not more then any rifle I own.
Having said this, of all the small Cal rifles I own, the best is my Stainless Ruger 10/22. It is a blast to target with. Very picky over its Ammo, CCI/Blazer are its choice, but I can tell you without a doubt, it is a quality firearm. Best in my collection of small cals, no question. I would suggest this over any other small cal rifle.

Thanks Lee. If I go for another rifle then at least it means when my wife and I are hunting together we can both use rifle, instead of her with a rifle and me the 12ga.
Will just have to see what happens.
