Nice job Mike I got out for a short while and missed two nice birds I should have had. Raised about 2 dozen hens and saw a couple more roosters running into standing corn. I had Pnemonia last week and I did not want to push my luck so to speak especially in this rain. I will say that all 5 of my dogs had a good outing and each set found a few birds to keep them happy. Now if I can get my shooting form back I will join you and Perry for an adventure or two.
On a bright note we at the HWWA have taken 5 young fellas under our wing these guys are 12 to 14 and have given them a free Hunter Ed and CFSC course plus range days and more. The next outing for these young guys is a upland hunt for Pheasant over my dogs and a young DD owned by one of our members. Should be a good time

Should be a good time Purl and I had a great couple of hours yesterday morning Mike, a good friend from Lawrencetown joined us and we managed 3 birds but should have limited out in 10 minutes...lol...our shooting wasnt exactly up to parr either. Purl put up over 40 birds 3/4 of them being roosters, she is a phenominal dog. I didn't take our new girl out yet as I want to get her alone with just Purl and I to see what she can do ....hope to get out with you this year, I don't know when I can go as we have had a bad spell of luck in my household and my time is very occupied now. I haven't spoke with Perry in quite some time I must give him a call....wonder if he got another dog?

Sorry to hear about your luck situation most of us have had to deal with rough times and know the feelings well. As for Perry he did not get a new dog yet. I thought I had one lined up for him but it fell through the owner is going to keep the dog it is a family thing. I hope things work out for you and your family and I'm certain that your other girl will be just great in the field. Sounds like a good crop of birds down your way, I used to go along the old rail line just out of Middleton where it crosses the 101 years ago always was nice through there. Anyways see you sometime this year I believe Perry said he had a busy fall on the guiding front which for him is good news. Mike

Something happened to AJ ? ...and if you're speaking to Perry, please pass along my regards. We talked for years of going on a pheasant hunt together...Just never happened.

Bob I haven't spoken to Perry since right after my wifes accident in August, he was headed to Labrador fishing and we said we would get togeather when he got back but I have had time to do SFA in the last 3 months ...I am sure the old bugger and I will get togeather for a hunt in the next couple of weeks. JJ is still alive as far as the last time Perry and I spoke but he is getting very long in the tooth and Perry was looking to replace him as a hunting partner.

Still hoping to find some pheasant. The one that usually hangs around our woodlot seems to have disappeared.
