You'll enjoy your own line. I spent a year being mentored last year and only ran limited sets, but this year I expanded my efforts and I'm doing ok for my 1st real season. 25 beavers, 1 fisher, 35 muskrats, 1 otter, 56 squirrels, 10 weasels, 97 raccoons, 1 bobcat, 4 coyotes, 5 bear, 2 mink, 1 fox.
The last couple of weeks have been slow for me. I dont do a lot of water trapping and my land sets have been tough to keep working with all the storms and temp shfts we've been having. I'm hoping to have one more good surge of fur in February and finish the season strong. I've meet most of my goals this season except 1...I'd like to ship 250 furs to nafa this year. 12 critters to go, so I should meet that goal too.

I use bucket sets, duke dp's, live trap cages and conibear pole sets. Coons are easy if you have them around. I could have done more in November, but didnt have enough traps to cover all the spots I wanted to work. They'll be out and around again in a month or so I'd like to hit them hard again.
Problem with coons are they are a gamble at market. It sucks to put the work into them and end up with low $'s. Prices were good last year, so I took a chance on them this year.

What is the scoop on the Fishers? I know/think there is restrictions on them? How does that work after a catch?

Yes, the warm spell brought out a few coons, so I was able to get enough to bring me to #100 on the season. I have 4 squirrel sets out, so I get 2-4 squirrels a day. Weasels slowed down and picked up 1, but they'll get moving again after this snow. I missed a fisher on a log set last week...pulled the snare and I had a dirt bag steal a coyote out of one of my snare pens yesterday.
I dont have any water sets out right now and I should have put some out during that warm spell. A good friend of mine that traps took advantage of it and picked up 20 muskrats in colony traps.
This dump of snow isnt going to help anything. My snare pens will be buried and the den critters will den up again.

I'm pleased for sure...only 1 goal left to acheive and I only need 1 more coyote to do it.
Sounds like you guys are doing well too. If you lose track of numbers, that's a good thing!
