This past fall the Grouse population was very high compared to the few past years. It was good to see that they are returning to a high point in their cycle. Was seeing some large families early while Trout Fishing. From all appearances they survived well into the fall time.

The Grouse numbers where the highest i have ever seen them, i didn't have a single trip into the woods with out seeing at least one, Short my first one this season found out they are delicious!

Many ways to cook them as well. They have a mild taste. I like the in Shake and Bake coating as it keeps them moist.

I only got out after grouse once while still training the dog early season and put up 3 ...we did see a few during pheasant hunting, though by the time we realized they weren't hen pheasants it was too late to shoot...LOL
Partridge is the very best piece of meat in the woods in my opinion!!!
