I like the quick dip. Just mix it with gas, dip your trap, hang it up to dry and leave it until you need it in the fall. The dye works best on rusty traps, so I leave all my new traps outside in the winter/spring to rust first. I dip them in early spring and hang them in the shed. They turned out great.

Unique Markus, when I trapped I used a bark die solution and boiled them for hours. Your idea/method seems much simpler. I also let me new traps sit outside for several seasons to rust. That was along time ago however. I see some coil springs in your PIC, I used a lot of those, #1 and #2 long spring and 110 Conibears as well depending on the set, still have a few kicking around here.

I prefer the coil springs in dirt hole sets and pocket sets early, but they tend to freeze up in the later season and the long springs dont.
