Even though alot of folks just drift a chunk of mackeral out into the bay on a rod the size of a telephone pole ...well thats not my thing I prefer to fly fish for them in the rivers that they run chasing gaspereau ....Its awesome fun Here is whatwe fish them with ...not for the faint of heart if your arfaid of getting a hook in the back of the head....LOL 3/0 Striper fly

Thats was the objective Lee glad it turned out that way....lol...stripers are a hard hitting fish that makes huge runs...dare I say almost better than salmon

Yes caught a few Stripers over the years great fight for sure. I always found that the fight was short lived however.

Yes a fly rod gives a totally different experience. Fly fished a bit years ago for Trout, I was little to hard of the rods, caught the alders behind me and snapped the rods off. I retired to totally spinning gear after that.

For me fishing isn't about catching fish...heck it isn't even about fishing its about slinging flies and relaxing on the river, lake, stream.... its the place I go when I don't want to have a care in the world
